Symbol
The symbol of the Republic of Albania is represented from bicephalous black eagle, placed on a red  shield. The red shield is surrounded by a black stripe. On the top of it there is "Republic of Albania" written in red letters .

Political System
Parliamentary Republic
There is an single chamber parliament with140 members. The members of parliament (MPs) are elected, by general elections, once in four year.

The President of the Republic
Mr. Bamir Topi, elected by the People’s Assembly on July 20, 2007 for a five-year period.

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers
Mr. Sali Berisha (Democratic Party), decreed by the President of the Republic Albania, 2005.

The Government
The government is composed of a center-right coalition of parties including  the Democratic Party of Albania, the Socialist Movement for Integration, the Republican Party of Albania, the Environmentalist Agrarian Party, the Democratic Alliance Party, the Legality and Unity of the Right, the Democratic National Front Party, the National Front Party, the Liberal Democratic Union, the Party for Justice and Integration, the Christian Democratic League, the Democratic Alliance Party, the Democratic National Front Party, the Party of New Albanian European Democracy, the New Party of Denied Rights, the Macedonian Alliance for European Integration, the Alliance for Democracy and Solidarity, the Ora of Albania and the Forca Albania.

Constitution
The new Constitution of the Republic of Albania was approved by popular referendum on November 28, 1998.
