Prime Minister Sali Berisha was granted an audience today by the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives John Boehner.

Speaker Boehner expressed to the prime minister his pleasure at seeing him in the Congress and expressed an interest in developments and reforms in Albania.

Expressing thanks for the hospitality, PM Berisha acquainted Speaker Boehner with the government of Albania reforms and important achievements during this period in all the fields, the political field as well as economy, education, health, building of infrastructure, energy, tourism and information technology.

Speaking about the integration processes, PM Berisha thanked Speaker Boehner for the great American support to Albania NATO membership. PM Berisha said that the government of Albania actually considers the country’s EU membership as its top priority. “You have done a great job to take the country into the right road. We are satisfied with the reports we get on developments in Albania”, said Speaker Boehner.

The interlocutors highlighted during their meeting Albania functional freedom in its development and progress.

Further on, the interlocutors discussed on the regional developments, the efforts of the countries of the region and the EU states to handle the crisis that has affected several countries of the euro-zone.

PM Berisha took the opportunity to invite Speaker Boehner to visit Albania saying that it would be an honor to welcome a great friend to Albania on occasion of the 100-th anniversary of the country Independence.
